Maintaining Support Availability for Customers

Maintaining Support Availability for Customers

In the last InPrint, I discussed some of the efforts made by businesses that are known for quality customer service.  One of those we have adopted is to hire courteous, conscientious, and hard-working individuals who communicate well with others and have a good understanding of both GIS and Cityworks. Our Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) are available to answer questions and help find resolutions to your issues.
As the number of Cityworks clients grows, our call count also increases. The increase ...

First Annual Cityworks Reporting Competition

First Annual Cityworks Reporting Competition

One of the most effective ways to extract your valuable Cityworks data is utilizing a reporting engine like Crystal Reports or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).  Many Cityworks clients have Crystal or SSRS gurus on staff.   To encourage these valuable skills and reward these hardworking individuals, we developed a fun event for clients and business partners to participate in.

This year Cityworks sponsored the first of what will be an annual report writing competition at the Cityworks User Conference in May.  ...

Positive Customer Experience

Positive Customer Experience

I routinely read articles on customer support methods to identify ways to improve our technical support. I recently read one reporting on the top 10 companies known for customer service. Most of these are familiar names in conversations about quality service: Nordstrom, Southwest Airlines, FedEx, and UPS. Some of the key policies that place them in the top ten are keeping their websites simple and easy to navigate, compensating employees well, supplying the necessary tools enabling employees to provide an ...

Cityworks 2010.1 and 2011: What You Need to Know

What a great user conference! Many thanks to all of you that attended. I hope you found it beneficial and informative, but most of all, I hope you had a good time. We’re already looking forward to next year.

Those of you who attended the plenary session at this year’s conference will recall that I spent some time talking about Cityworks 2010.1 and 2011. I’d like to summarize in this article because we know there are important decisions that have to ...

Windows 7 Ruggedized Solutions

Windows 7 Ruggedized Solutions

Cityworks has been researching various Windows 7 tablets. Last March, we entered into an agreement with a company called Motion Computing, allowing us access to their ruggedized solutions to test Cityworks Server. As many of you know, I demonstrated their F5V tablet at our conference and discussed several of their other tablets and options.

Cost for “going ruggedized” can be pricey; therefore, we are looking into other Windows 7 tablet solutions, such as the ASUS EEE Slate and the Tangent Tycoon. ...

Customer Support – Exceeding Expectations

Customer Support – Exceeding Expectations

A few weeks ago, we received an email from one of our clients expressing their satisfaction with the support they had received.  They compared their experience with their Cityworks Customer Support representative to other companies explaining how great he was at explaining and working through their concerns.  The email stated, “I don’t think I have ever written any other company about their support staff but I felt I needed to because I felt that I learned more and also was ...
