Azteca Systems Unveils Cityworks Product Strategy
Annual User Conference Showcases GIS-centric Scalability
Park City, UT — The highlight of their fifth annual User Conference, Azteca Systems Inc. unveiled their next generation product strategy for their leading GIS-based Asset Maintenance Management System. Building on the success of their flagship product, Cityworks Desktop, customers will have an array of deployment options. From desktop to web, the products leverage state-of-the-art technologies, enable greater scalability and increased cost effectiveness, further establishing Azteca’s position as the leader and innovator in Asset Maintenance Management solutions.
"For ten years, Cityworks has been built to meet the expanding needs of our customers. That principal hasn’t changed,” said Brian Haslam, President, Azteca Systems. “Our product development evolves based on these needs and market trends, blended with our fundamental focus on the power and benefits of a spatial database. The market has recognized what we’ve known for a long time: GIS is a very important and versatile resource for an organization.”
Cityworks will be available for personal desktop users, client/server clusters, embedded GIS and web deployable versions using ESRI’s ArcGIS®, ArcGIS Engine® and ArcGIS Server®. Clients can mix and match deployment options across their organization – in the office and in the field – to meet a wide range of business needs.
“We’ve moved well beyond the fences of traditional computerized maintenance management systems,” says Carl Horton, Product Development Director Azteca Systems. “While the server platform creates an easy environment to integrate related business processes within a portal, other users may be better suited for an embedded solution. Regardless, all users access the exact same database.”
“This is right on target and exactly what we look for,” said Tim Oliver, Assistant Director IT/GIS Horry County South Carolina: “GIS-centric, easily deployable and affordable options that not only meet our needs but offer an environment that enables easy data and application sharing among our constituent jurisdictions."
Azteca’s product team showcased the Cityworks product line in front of a crowd of more than 200 people at their annual User Conference in Park City Utah. Development is underway with scheduled availability in 2005.
