POWER Engineers Incorporated (POWER) announced a contract awarded by Milwaukee County for the enterprise implementation of the Cityworks® work order and asset management solution. In this project, Cityworks will provide the ability for viewing assets, tracking maintenance, and supporting decisions for county-wide facility management including the following departments: Facilities, Parks, Zoo, Corrections, Fleet, Transit, and Economic Development. This initiative meets a strategic objective of the Information Management Services Division (IMSD) to consolidate existing disparate systems and processes into an enterprise solution.
“Milwaukee County is looking forward to the benefits and efficiencies that implementing an enterprise Cityworks solution will provide,” stated IT Director, Rick Trisco, IMSD Governance and Strategy. “A spatially based cohesive system that can provide real-time updates for staff in the field and in the office is the most effective way to manage county-wide assets. We’re also pleased to be working with a firm such as POWER Engineers on this project. Their experience implementing Cityworks for local government is invaluable. They are able to provide guidance during planning and implementation that allowed us to turn relatively disparate workflows into a seamless enterprise process.”
POWER’s Project Manager located in our Green Bay office, Lee Halbrook stated, “This effort continues our partnership with the County that dates back to 2006 when the need to upgrade the GIS led to working with POWER. Building on this established relationship, we look forward to a truly collaborative effort between the County, POWER and our partners on this project. We will be leveraging new technology to configure and deploy a system that will result in measurable operational and planning efficiencies, as well as be a model of established best management practices benefitting the County and its residents.”
The initial phase of the project begins with an analysis of the business workflow and definition of the functional requirements for asset management that includes field and office users. POWER’s team will provide the following services:
Project Management and Coordination
Business Process Analysis, Requirements Gathering and Implementation Planning
Cityworks System Configuration
Training, System Acceptance, and Support
